What is a Springboard building?

Springboard is unique. We offer a complete solution for the busy young professional recently out of University and coming to London to take up a demanding role. We have made every effort to ensure that your living costs are kept to a minimum, while including a dizzying number of benefits and utilities within the cost of your rent.

Are Springboard buildings new?

All out buildings have been completely redesigned, refurbished and redecorated in multi-million pound refurbishments specially aimed at a new or recent graduate’s requirements.

What is the difference between the Springboard experience and just finding a rental flat/studio?

Vast!. At Springboard you have a total experience tailored for you. A modern well designed living space, with in-house facilities such as gyms and cinemas included in your rent. The irritating paperwork is all taken care of (who wants to worry about arranging for gas … water … registering for council tax …etc. etc.).. When you compare our rents with the cost of rents plus extra (mostly unavoidable) amenities etc. payable elsewhere, Springboard rents work out much cheaper than a studio in a comparable area. Plus you benefit from add-ons (like broadband, satellite, cinema, conservatory, building manager, en-suite) all included.

What is the difference between lowest rent and highest rent?

The lower rent rooms are smaller and may not have an en-suite or have slightly less light than other rooms however you still have access to all the building services and features. Some bigger rooms have large bathrooms and balconies.

Do I have to be a new graduate?

No, but we believe the concept is most suitable for recent graduates. The ethos is that you will be sharing with like-minded people at a similar career stage with all the benefits this offers

How do I reserve a room?

Reservations are on a first come first serve basis. You will need to pay a £150 advance rent payment (non refundable on cancellation before moving in) which forms part of your first months rent. If you would like to reserve a room we ask that the £150 is transferred before we take the room off the market.

How long is the lease for?

We offer 6 month Assured Shorthold Tenancy Contract (AST). We do offer shorter terms for Interns. Contact us to see if your company has partnered with us to offer short leases to their interns.

We may be able to offer shorter leases of 3 months if you have a fixed leaving date that is know in advance before you move in. This is subject to demand at the time.

How much deposit will I have to put down?

6 weeks rent, you will also need to pay your rent in advance. The deposit is returned at the end of your tenancy subject to any damage or rent arrears.

We are a couple. Can we also take a room?

Definitely. However not every room we have can take two people. The only extra for a couple is that the service charge doubles from £29.50 to £59.

Who are the other tenants?

People like you! Coming to London to take up a demanding job at the beginning of their careers with established companies. In our other buildings, 70% of tenants stated that the best thing about Springboard was living with like-minded people, at a similar career stage – when they wanted them – otherwise they have their own privacy.

I am a woman. Is it suitable for me?

Every effort has been made to offer security to women and the male female ration in the building is nearly always 50/50.

What security measure do you have in place?

Security is enhanced by a number of features: The building manager, a doorfone (in every room), self locking building front door, self locking flat front door and your own lockable bedroom door. We also conduct security reviews periodically.

Will all other tenants be working?

All our tenants are expected to have careers. We have a very small minority that are doing an MBA or PHD.

I have a car. Parking permits are notoriously difficult to get. Can I have one?

West Hampstead - A third of our rooms come with permits but these are fixed to individual rooms– a rarity!

Fulham, Bamborough Gardens and Thornfield Road - We cannot guarantee the availability of an on street parking permit through the council, however in the past these have been obtainable.

How are the rooms furnished?

See the Interiors section on the individual buildings for examples of our rooms and shared spaces. We are sure you will be impressed.

Do I need bedding?

Yes you will need to bring along bedding, nearly all rooms are a standard double (140cm x 200cm) and we also recommend that you purchase a mattress protector.

Is there an age limit?

No – but the age profile of residents will reflect the average new hire at well-known companies. Our majority age profile is 22 - 28.

I don’t know many people in London, will it suit me?

Absolutely. 70% of tenants stated that the best thing about Springboard was living with like-minded people, at a similar career stage … making friends … planning trips … enjoying London.
