A personal message from Rob Darbyshire

I am Rob and I am the go to guy at Springboard and would be your first port of call for anything you might need.

We are acutely conscious that there is a dearth of good quality, affordable accommodation for young people coming to London to begin their careers. But at the same time we do not lose track of the fact there is much more to living in London than just renting a room.

From my point of view the core of our offering at Springboard Urban is value for money. We do not wish to claim to be the cheapest. You will always be able to find a cheaper room in a far-flung location together with a long, boring and expensive commute. However, I can attest that we are fantastic value for money for those people who stay with us. I can't think of anywhere else where you have a landlord that truly cares about your overall experience in London rather than just collecting rent from you. So when you consider the rent of a particular room, please bear in mind all those pesky costs that have already been included – see One Bill & Cost Comparisons (link to page) on this website for this listing. Tenants come back again to live with us from non-Springboard locations in the capital, having learnt the hard way that these costs can make your total monthly bill significantly more expensive than at Springboard not to mention the associated hassle.

Here are several ways that we are different, and work harder for you:

The Springboard Social Community - everyone is in the same boat and this creates a community of like-minded people. People who stay with us are serious about their new careers, and come from a wide range of backgrounds and sectors of employment. One notable area is from the City but after Accountants, Lawyers, Investment Bankers, Consultants, et al, we have Civil Servants, Nurses, Police Officers, Teachers, Architects, Engineers, Art Dealers, Cartoonists and even a couple of spies! While our buildings are not 'party places' with non-stop noise we do nonetheless have a great time when we do have a party. We have our own organizer, putting on social events, such as:

  • Karaoke
  • Comedy Nights
  • Fancy Dress Parties
  • Live Bands
  • Hot Tub Parties
  • BBQ's
  • and the odd night in the pub.

to name just a few examples.

I have lost count of the number of groups of people who have met staying with us and then gone onto rent a flat together. I am sure these friendships will be long-lived: being resident at Springboard myself many of my own friends have come from Springboard.

Budgeting and Inclusive Rents - sorting out one set of bills per building drives me crazy and taking this burden off our tenants' shoulders is one of the big keys to our popularity. You pay one bill and you don't worry after that - we do all the rest for you. We also don't charge you a myriad of different fees for this, that and the other.

We are also a landlord that is present and available - not just at the end of a phone line, or worse still NOT at the end of a phone line when you need us! I hope you will read the testimonials on this website that support this. We can't get everything right all the time but we listen and learn and strive to be the best and for you to have a positive experience with us. Springboard would not work without the cleaners, it means that even if someone is messier than the next person you can look forward to a clean kitchen when you return home from work.

I look forward to welcoming you to one of the Springboard locations.

There is only one Springboard – we are unique!
