David Morgan, 33, Manager at British Telecom.
Which Springboard building did you live in?
How long did you live there?
In total 2 years. For 6 months in 2007 and then for a year and a half in 2010.
What were the most significant factors which influenced your decision to move in to Springboard?
I welcomed the opportunity to get to know people in London given I was new to the city. Then when I got a new job it enabled me to focus my attention on my career, knowing that everything at home would always be taken care off. It was very straightforward. All I had to do was make one fixed monthly payment, and all my bills were included in this.
Did Springboard live up to your expectations?
Yes, definitely. To this day the friends I made 8 years ago are still amongst my best friends. And at the time it provided a very convenient solution that allowed me to prosper in my career.
What are/were you favourite things about living at Springboard?
I loved the convenience of just going down to the basement to use the gym. Likewise, meeting new people downstairs in the cinema or over a game of ping pong was great. It’s just such a friendly and relaxed place to come back to after a hard day at work.
Is there anything you would like to change or any recommendations you would make?
I have a few ideas for social activities, and in particular would have like to have hosted some pizza and/or curry evenings in the kitchen downstairs!
Did you experience any problems with your room/maintenance etc ? If so, how were these taken care of?
I only ever experienced minor problems and these were immediately attended to by Rob, the live in property manager.
Did you take advantage of the Springboard social scene? If so, tell me a little bit about friends you made at Springboard, or trips/outings/fun experiences you had with other Springboard tenants.
Absolutely, apart from regularly using the shared space I also attended parties at both West Hampstead and Fulham Springboard which are always fun and a good way to meet new people. I think my favorite trips (of which there are many) is the ski trips that we would often do together. I spent a week skiing in France with other tenants for 3 years running! One of the best aspects of Springboard is that typically the other residents have a similar mind set to you, and are friendly and energetic.
What is your favourite Springboard story or memory?
Unfortunately, that is not appropriate to repeat here! (Editor’s note: The mind boggles, David!)
Would you recommend Springboard to a friend? And if so why?
Yes, without hesitation. It’s a great environment from which to build a solid foundation for a life in London.
Provide a sentence or two to sum up Springboard in your own words.
Springboard is convenient, safe and gives you a great opportunity to meet new friends.
When you left Springboard, did you encounter any problems renting through agencies? If so, what were these?
